Another Dog Contest

There is another fun contest for dogs. It is a sleeping beauty contest where you enter a picture of your dog or dogs sleeping. The winner gets one of the cashmere beds (which the boys have finally warmed to!). Second and third place get gift certificates for matchmypet.com. We will for sure be entering as soon as I choose the perfect picture! If you aren't going to enter, vote for us! You can enter or vote at Match My Pet Sleeping Beauty Contest. The contest runs from June 1 until Aug 31.

Nuts for Mutts

Today was SO much fun. Patrick and I went to cheer on Monte at the Nuts for Mutts dog show. Monte was a star - he made it to the finals in both his classes (Cutest Puppy and Friendliest Dog). In the final round he placed second all around in cutest puppy. For friendliest dog he did not place, but the MC, Comedian Debra Wilson, said Monte was her favourite and gave him her personal Honorable Mention. All in all Monte had a great and successful day.

Patrick was a star outside of the ring. He exceeded my expectations for him! He was calm, patient, cute and attentive. I would not hesitate to take him out to something like that again. Everyone loved him - he is so cute!

Nuts for Mutts

"Nuts for Mutts is an annual dog show and pet fair celebrating the best of the mutt. It's just like the Westminster Dog show... okay, not really. In this show, mixed breed dogs compete in categories such as "Best Kisser," "Fastest Eater," "Most Vocal," "Mystery Mutt" and more. It's a day of fun and a way for people to show off their mutts, so nothing is taken too seriously (well, that may not always be true for all contestants).

This year the show is on June 1 in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles area). The idea originated from Bobby Dorafshar, founder of New Leash On Life Animal Rescue, a local non-profit organization that rescues and rehabilitates homeless pets.

There are special categories for purebred rescues as well.

Tickets prices are Adults are $10, Kids 12 - 3 are $5, Kids under 3 are free and Dogs are $5. You can bring your dog to watch even if he is not showing as long as you buy him a ticket.

I think maybe we will go check it out. It looks like fun! I'm a bit sad the boys can't enter because Jack has some SERIOUS ears and Patrick is the biggest kisser ever.

I'm a slacker

I've been slacking! I've actually been super busy with work. Normally I work at home and am with the dogs all day. The last three days I have been out at a conference, and so I have been away from the house for about 14hours a day. The dogs go NUTS when I get home! (They are not alone for all 14 hours, my husband was home for large chunks of it.) Anyways -they want to lick my face and bite my ears and it's all TOO MUCH! Holy cow! At least I know the miss me. Hopefully some new pictures tomorrow.

Oh yeah! Jack was featured on The Swanky Pup! He was the Swanky Pup of the week! Go Jack!
